This seemed inevitable after the LPTV 6's were allowed to keep broadcasting an analog audio signal after the transition to digital last summer. The thing that annoys me is that full power stations were told back in 2009 in no uncertain terms that they would not be allowed to do the exact same thing. At least one station (WPVI Philadelphia) actually had been using that "feature" as a selling point. They encouraged drivers to listen to their newscasts in their cars on their way home from work and they weren't happy that they had to discontinue that. If this goes through (and I imagine it will), the next step I figure will be for the full power stations to petition to do the same thing.

Just more proof that "if everybody does it, that makes it right". Back in the early 70's, working in recording (while watching over my shoulder for cops), no one believed marijuana would ever be legalized. Now, there's a legal cannabis shop 100 feet from my front door. And, this is in Utah!
