Crazy promo idea

I'll tell you up front, I think this is a crazy idea. BUT it might be fun and maybe it would work. It's cheap at least.

Something dxstuboy said a few weeks ago got me thinking. He said that he wrote with his finger on his dirty car that he was broadcasting on 88.7 and someone found it and was listening.

Why not take that one step further and use it as a promotion?

There are station vehicles driving around town all the time. Why not put a transmitter and a cart machine (so it will loop) in the van running a short promo of hooks of the types of things you'd hear on the station? Maybe 10-15 second snippets from morning show bits or something. Then paint something on the van saying "Free samples from the Whatever Morning Show from Blah-Blah FM on 87.7!"

Would be funny to put one of those in the KBER van. That thing is full to the brim already. We just got new big inflatables that take up half the van.

I'm not sure I fully understand your idea CA but that's also because its nearly 3 AM, correction, it is 3:12. What I'm doing up I have no idea.

I'm trying to think of a better way to describe it. Say you wanted to put together a 5 minute demo reel of the best of your station, maybe to use as an example for advertisers. Station personalities (particularly your morning show if you have one) would figure prominently. That's what I'm talking about. Does that make more sense?
