Ah, this is an interesting change. My wife was really digging the Christmas music on 96.7 and was shocked when it suddenly disappeared. Hoping it was a swap, we switched to 99.9 and heard the looped announcement. Are you planning to play Christmas music on The Goat? My wife loved having a third alternative when both 100.3 and 99.5 were advertising/talking. Thanks! When we put it on I was hoping we'd be able to keep it until the New Year, but the sale moved faster than expected. Yes, I'll be mixing Christmas music in starting the day after Thanksgiving. It will primarily be stuff that fits the format (Beach Boys, Jackson 5, etc), and it will be pure Christmas music on Christmas Eve and Day. Thank you Frank! Best of luck in all your work!

Sounds like what I prefer to do, old-school style, rather than a complete swap-out for 30+ days and then back with the "flip of the switch".

amanuensis' post fits better in the Christmas thread so it has been moved. Please continue discussion of Christmas music in general there. Thanks.

A question for Frank. On the Goat's current stream, the same loop is playing inviting people to tune to 96.7 to hear the Goat and then the Goat is playing on what was Kosy's stream. When the loop is gone and the 99.9/1580 combo is no longer yours, will you stream KSRR 1400 on the port where the change loop is now or do you not know yet?

I had swapped the stream on the site but I clearly missed some third parties that are connecting to the other port. I'll move that over today so it will pull the Goat programming. Kstar will have its own port

Can anyone in the Utah County area tell me what's being broadcast on 1580 and 99.9 now that the new owner has taken over operations of those stations? I'm too far north to hear 1580 before local sunset, and 99.9 is dominated by KSVN's translator in Ogden. Thanks!

1580 is still playing Frank’s loop asking people to tune to 96.7. I can’t hear his 99.9 here in Murray because of the LP downtown SLC (KUAA?). His 96.7 is still playing “the Greatest Of All Time”.

Has anyone recorded the loop for posterity?

Thanks for the information, Terry. I'm guessing that the FM translator on 99.9 is probably airing Frank's audio loop as well, since translators with an associated AM station are required by the FCC to broadcast the signal of the AM station. I guess the new owner wasn't ready to take over operations of 1580 & 99.9 as soon as expected.
This comment is slightly off topic, but WHY did the FCC choose to put FM translators in Utah and Weber Counties, as well as a low power FM station in Salt Lake, on the same frequency??! Considering the close proximity of the LPFM and the translators, putting all three on 99.9 seems like a recipe for disaster.

I expect they will be ready later in the month but I don't know the date. For now, the loop is just basically keeping it from filing to go silent.

Apparently the new owner(s) of KWLO still haven't taken over operations of the station yet. I just read a post from a DX'er in Martinez, CA dated 01/01/22 who reported hearing Frank's repeating message on 1580 directing "Utah's Goat" listeners to tune to 96.7 KQMB. The FCC database is having issues again, so I can't check it to see if an extension of consummation has been filed.

There hasn't been a filing yet for any transfer of control to the to-be new owner so no extension of consummation is even possible.

When I listen to the Eagle Mountain Storage commercial on 1400 K-Star, I still hear Frank saying "Hi this is Frank with Kosy 96.7" during the Eagle Mountain Storage commercial on 1400 AM.

Is 1580/99.9 still broadcasting Frank's message about "Utah's Goat" relocating to 96.7, or has the new owner finally taken over operations of those frequencies? Also, is KSRR 1400 still broadcasting the Sounds of Sunday/LDS music, or has something else replaced it? Sorry, but I'm located too far north to hear any of these stations.
