twitter.com/i/status/1458199429358538752Depending on who you get the info from, they will leave the air at 10:00 PM, or 11:00 PM EASTERN time. Not sure what they are doing....one announcement says "Maintenance", another says "Emergency Alert System Maintenance". Either way, there's a chance of hearing something on that frequency tonight (DX-wise), if you can null out KKOB from NM. Hardly anyone else is on 770 at night.

Sounds like they are still on air, hearing the Pensylvania SDR at 10:30 EST. I tried to null out KKOB here in Midvale, but still was hearing some whining ninny trying to see how many times he could say "Marxist" in a sentence. Why can't we have nice things (on radio)?
I'm getting a lot of gattling-gun noise in the 700-800 KHz band now.

They went off the air at 11:04 PM on the SDR. I hear some Spanish-language programming in it's place. I thought there must be a huge lightning storm around there, since there were rapid "gunfire hits" throughout the WABC program...but not during breaks. Could those be sound effects, meant to instill fear in the audience? 🙄

If you want to ask about anything New York Radio the place to do it is nyrmb.com/Thanks. That's good to know.... I wasn't able to find a good forum for NY before. I noticed that WABC was back on a lot sooner than expected. Maybe just a tower light bulb change? Now, my next antenna test may be Radio Kiribati. I read something in the news today from the Marshall Islands. 😉
