After decades of play-by-play work for the Kings, Grant Napear is putting the full-court press on his former radio station employer.
“I made the comment on May 31 and less than 48 hours later, my career as I knew it, didn’t exist anymore,” he said.
That comment was a tweet in response to a question from former Kings star DeMarcus Cousins about the Black Lives Matter movement.
“I mean, all lives matter…every single one is deemed racist by a company? Or by others? I mean, who doesn’t believe that all lives matter, every single one?” he said.
In a newly filed lawsuit against KHTK’s parent company Bonneville International, the 62-year-old alleges wrongful termination, discrimination, and retaliation. The complaint says no one from Bonneville ever told Napear that he was “terminated for material dishonesty, misconduct or any conduct that might discredit the goodwill, good name or reputation of the company.”

"....We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness....
Why would anyone question the unquestionable meaning of "ALL", or take offence to it's use? Especially as it pertains to human lives.

If we're going to go there:
Imagine we all sit down for pumpkin pie. And everyone at the table, except the black guy, gets a slice of pie. So he asks, "Don't I get some pie?"
Us: "ALL OF US GET PIE"
Him: "But I didn't get any..."
Us: "ALL OF US GET PIE!!!"
It's not that an "all lives matter" sentiment is wrong. America is E Pluribus Unum (out of many, one). The trouble is, the people who generally use that term do so in a way that minimizes, ignores, or disputes the issue which "Black Lives Matter" is intending to address.

Something I don't understand is how BLM itself isn't racist. It seems like the agenda that BLM proponents are trying to promote is equality regardless of race, yet the statement itself specifically excludes anyone who isn't black. That's why I think All Lives Matter makes much more sense.
I think the whole BLM movement has actually set back the cause of equality. The more any group (not just race) calls attention to the differences between themselves and others, the less equal they appear.

It's a weird catch-22, isn't it?
Because if we ignore race, we unintentionally ignore problems rooted in race. Which is how we got here in the first place.
When we draw attention to a race-based problem, it can stoke racial division.
IMO, I'd rather address the problem than continuing to ignore it. The problem does a pretty good job creating a racial division on its own. Healing and a colorblind society won't be possible until all Americans live a similar experience, regardless of race. And clearly the country isn't there yet.
