The listings of the rules of the board is honestly a mess and has been for a long time. I'm going to be consolidating/rewriting/refreshing them at some point. Since I'm going to be revising them anyway, this would be a good time to open the floor to see what changes you'd all like to see made either in the rules or the board itself. Obviously I can't promise that I can do every suggestion but I can at least listen and consider what you have to say
(Side note: board suggestions/criticisms/ideas/etc have always been welcome in the General Talk board and will continue to be even after the rewrite. You can also send a private message to me if you like.)
So let me know what you're thinking, even if it's just "it's fine the way it is."

I have one suggestion. Have a thread for each radio and television station in Utah. And then don't lock those threads. This would keep all of the discussion about a station in one place. Perhaps instead of having topics grouped by geography, i.e., Wasatch Front and the rest of the state, the board's primary divisions could be by station ownership groups. This way all of the threads about, say, Bonneville stations, would be in one grouping, both radio and television. There could also be a thread in each ownership group for general discussion about that owner that doesn't apply to any one particular station. Finally, there could be one general grouping of threads outside of the ownership paradigm for threads that pertain to more than one ownership group, such as the perennial discussion about station ratings.

Thank you for your comment amanuensis. I appreciate it.
I forgot to mention a couple of things. One, I'm not going to be commenting on individual suggestions until the end of the process. Two, if anyone has a comment about someone else's suggestion, please post that too. Thanks.

About what oldiesfunhouse said in the Christmas thread, I never meant to imply that saying anything negative was forbidden or anything of that sort and I apologize if it seemed that way. Saying something negative is OK as long as it's done in a respectful way and isn't an attack. You can say that such-and-such a group sounded awful if that's how you feel. Does that make things clearer?
I'm glad this came up so I can make the rules as clear as possible. If there's anything that still isn't clear about this or any other rule I'd like to address it.
