Scripps continues to make changes on ION and more

Sometime between Sunday and Monday morning the channel ID's for ION's 16.5 and 16.6 changed and sometime between Monday morning and Tuesday morning the programming changed as well. 16.5 is now DeFY TV and 16.6 is TruReal. The odd thing is that there's nothing online about TruReal. It looks like there was a last minute name change. The original press release from March 2 called it Doozy.

Both of the new networks are reality series based with DeFY being aimed at men and TruReal aimed at women. Previews of both are currently running with the launch scheduled for Thursday.

Meanwhile, Bounce is no longer duplicated. It's still on ION's 16.4, but the copy that was on 23.3 is now something called NTD which describes itself as "a New York-based, global television network founded in 2001 by Chinese-Americans who fled communism" and is run by followers of Falun Gong.

Laff, Grit, CourtTV and CourtTV Mystery are all still duplicated, and Newsy doesn't appear to be anywhere locally yet. Will there be a change to any of these on July 1st? What do you think?

Scripps is pulling Newsy off some streaming services today and looks like an October launch for OTA
Not sure if it will be in Utah but I’m guessing yes

It doesn't make sense to me to pull the streaming service feeds before the OTA feeds are ready. There's a risk of the audience losing interest in the meantime, right?

Yea don't make since? But it's just a few services they are pulling it from at first.

It feels to me like "pulled" is the wrong word. I'd be willing to bet that the contract expired June 30 and wasn't renewed. If that was the case Scripps *could* have renewed the contract for 3 months but apparently chose not to. Smells like a mistake to me but we'll have to see if it matters.
