Sinclair has a national news program called "The National Desk" that is currently airing weekdays 7-9AM on KMYU/KUTV2.2. According to Cord Cutters News ( www.cordcuttersnews.com/sinclairs-the-national-desk-expands-to-late-night-broadcast-available-on-stirr/ ) a new evening version is launching in September on all of Sinclair's MyNet and CW stations. The problem is that this new version is scheduled to air 8-10PM local time, which is where MyNet programming airs now. Unless they cancel some of their local news programming (now 7-7:30 and 10-11) it seems like the MyNet programming is going to get pushed to a not great timeslot. If the 7PM news was eliminated from KMYU and only aired on KJZZ they could air MyNet from 6-8, but only one hour of that is in primetime. Eliminating the 10PM news and leaving that just on KUTV would also eliminate the Talkin' Sports show and I wouldn't be too crazy about that idea. That pretty much just leaves 11PM or later which is way outside primetime. Salt Lake has had network clearances that late before with UPN, but the network didn't like it. What do you think they'll do?
