The move of KGNT from 103.9 to 99.1 and KNYN from 99.1 to 103.9 has been approved.

So this means that KNYN could potentially become a rimshot? I actually kind of like hearing KNYN when I pass through Evanston. What does it mean for KGNT, any changes?

At the moment, there are no changes at all to the coverage areas for either station according to the FCC documents. This is weird because the whole reason for those moves in the first place was to enable a 103.9 rimshot from Humpy. Part of the problem might be that the 3rd piece to the puzzle (moving 103.9 Nephi/KUDE to 99.1 also) expired without being resubmitted. Without that move, 103.9 from Humpy is short spaced and can't be done. This is the information filed by Millcreek about the status of their channel change:
---
AS MILLCREEK BROADCASTING, L.L.C., DEBTOR-IN-POSSESSION ('MILLCREEK'), REPORTED PREVIOUSLY, IT LOST ITS MAIN ANTENNA SITE AND LICENSED BOOSTER SITE FOR KUDE(FM). MILLCREEK WAS FORCED TO INSTALL AN EMERGENCY ANTENNA ON AN EXISTING TOWER NEAR ITS BOOSTER SITE TO KEEP KUDE ON THE AIR WHILE IT LOOKED FOR A NEW PERMANENT SITE.
MILLCREEK HAD IDENTIFIED A NEW SITE WHICH REQUIRES THE GRANT OF A LONG-PENDING CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION FOR STATION KNYN(FM), FORT BRIDGER, WYOMING, TO CHANGE FROM CHANNEL 256 TO 280. MILLCREEK NEEDS TO CHANGE KUDE'S CHANNEL AT NEPHI, UTAH, FROM 280 TO 256 TO IMPLEMENT MM DOCKET NUMBER 02-290. MILLCREEK HAD A CONSTRUCTION PERMIT TO MAKE THIS CHANNEL CHANGE (BPH-20040623ABX), HOWEVER, THIS PERMIT EXPIRED WHILE MILLCREEK WAITED FOR THE COMMISSION TO ACT ON CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION BPH-20070119AEV FOR FORT BRIDGER, WYOMING, FILED BY THE LICENSEE OF STATION KNYN. NOW THAT IT APPEARS THE ISSUES WHICH DELAYED GRANT OF THE KNYN APPLICATION HAVE BEEN RESOLVED AND THE APPLICATION SHOULD BE GRANTED SHORTLY, MILLCREEK BELIEVES IT MAKES MORE SENSE FOR IT TO RE-FILE ITS CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION FOR CHANNEL 256 AT NEPHI, UTAH, IMMEDIATELY. IN THE MEANTIME, MILLCREEK RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS AN EXTENSION OF ITS STA, PURSUANT TO SECTION 73.1680 AND 73.1635 OF THE RULES, TO OPERATE KUDE USING AN EMERGENCY ANTENNA WITH THE PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED TECHNICAL PARAMETERS PROVIDED BELOW.
COORDINATES: 40-16-58 N, 111-56-11 W (NAD 27) ASRN: 1251577 AMSL HEIGHT: 2,347 METERS AGL HEIGHT: 24 METERS CHANNEL: 280 ERP: 0.2 KW ANTENNA: DIRECTIONAL (NICOM BKY3P 'OFF-THE-SHELF AZIMUTH PATTERN') PEAK AZIMUTH: 95 DEGREES TRUE TPO: 0.2 KW
---
As far as I can tell, only the STA request has ever been filed.

LOL! Thanks, Henry. "The MIGHTY Michael J". Anyone who knows me knows that's quite a laugh Anyways, yeah I don't know what it means. I know folks in the industry are apparently watching things because I heard that last week Radio Ink or someone was calling the station trying to find out when we were moving. Moving? Us? To 103.9 they said. Hrmmm. No one up here knows anything and Kent isn't very forthcoming with any information about KNYN and our fate. So we have no clue. I thought at some point they had talked about 103.9 going on the air from humpy and us running right from where we are now. No boosters down there....just a humpy signal instead of a Medicine Butte signal. Again, it's been quite some time since I heard anything about that. If the application calls for KNYN to move to 103.9 and retain its Fort Bridger city of license, then obviously coverage could be obtained from Medicine Butte as it has at 99.1. However coverage could also be obtained from a Humpy site too. So I guess the short answer is, I know nothing. We're the last to know. We've been waiting for something to happen and are expecting not much warning except that it'll probably be summertime when it happens since with these mountain-top transmitters you can't do much in winter. Wish I knew more. We're as curious as everyone else. Michael n Wyo
