There's a version of "Blue Christmas" sung by Porky Pig that's been floating around the net for years now. It showed up tonight on of all places KSOP-FM.
For a minute I wasn't sure if it was really KSOP, but it was. The song's hilarious, so I can understand why someone would play it, but I was assuming that it was some kind of bootleg. I'm not even sure Mel Blanc did it, but if he didn't it's a really good impression.

Thanks for the info. It was between 9 and 10PM on Thursday. And according to yes.com I missed "The 12 Pains of Christmas" a little while ago. I need to start paying more attention to you guys.

I hated "Christmas Shoes" the first time I ever heard it, on Z100.com in 2000.
I change the station now. Not only is it depressing. It's not even a good song.

I think "Shoes" is supposed to be uplifting. I don't like it myself. Were you referring to the "Rusty Chevrolet" by Da Yoopers? Now that's a great one. Maybe it helps that I used to ride in one, complete with a hole through the floorboard on the driver's side about the size of a quarter. I think if necessary it would have been possible to punch right through the floor to do a Fred Flintstone Stop.

Just be glad you never have to hear "Christmas in the Northwest" or "Sippin' in Seattle's Latte land" by Duffy Bishop (http://cdbaby.com/cd/duffybishop2). *gag* At least in Utah about the most 'regional' holiday music is usually pleasant Kurt Bestor stuff or the MoTabs Choir.

I do like Robert Lund's 12 Utah Christmases! So funny! I guess there are multiple versions floating around. Some of it is a little dated now, but still just good fun!
Merry Christmas, folks!

Being a Tacoma native, I'm with you on CITNW. Fun tune but thank goodness the music only comes around once a year. I wonder if I have an MP3 of that song around.... Happy New Year!
