MHz Worldview (seen locally on KUEN 9.2) closed up shop on March 1 and is now only available through an online stream. This was news to me, but I never watched the channel.
I didn't see anything about a replacement when I took a quick look around the UEN website. What non-commercial service would you like to see fill the empty 9.2 channel? I can't think of much that isn't already covered on either KUED or KUEN.

That was about the only thing I watched religiously back when I could get radio and TV. That, and monitoring the low-band VHF channels for DX.
"Modern, Energy-efficient" light bulbs have killed it all for me, and many others.

I'd have to look around a good bit, to see what other channels are available, similar or not. I would vote for something with lots of international news and features, but I wonder how much of a market there is here. Many years ago, KSL had a big brainstorming session with all the employees. I was pretty excited, with visions of relationships with BBC, Deutsche Welle, Radio Netherlands, RSA, and Radio Australia. What came out of the surveys was, "If it's not on my side, of my street, in my neighborhood, in my town...I don't feel it relates to me, and don't want to hear it".

“France 24” would be my first choice. They have surprisingly good coverage of world events, in English, 24 hours a day. They are currently carried on a number of American non-commercial stations’ sub-channels.
DW-TV (German gov’t) would be my second choice. Also in English, 24 hours a day, and also currently carried on a number of non-comm sub-channels.
I notice that 9-2 is still on the air with a black screen and the UEN logo.
Edit: By the way, I hope they keep “NHK World Japan” on 9-4. I find myself watching it quite often. It’s an interesting insight into another culture.

I like the NASA-TV idea a lot. It has the added advantage of being free to use and readily available whenever it's needed. That might even be a good idea for one of the commercial operators that has channel capacity and I see several of those.

The UEN has found some temporary programming for KUEN 9.2 starting Thursday. They will be broadcasting the virtual special session of the legislature. I think this is a great idea. It's a topic a lot of people are interested in, it's of educational interest, it will help keep bandwidth issues down since those who want to watch won't have to stream their own copy over the internet, and the channel wasn't being used anyway.
I wonder if this might become a regular thing starting next year during the legislature's normal sessions. It could be like a temporary local version of C-SPAN.

MHz Networks has been leaning toward all-streaming, subscription-only programming for years. My reaction was a frown and a shrug..."whatever". Now, they tell my there will be no current news from their partners. Just an online archive sort of thing.
I want shortwave radio back, then. I miss international news.
