The new Court TV

For those of you who haven't heard, the Court TV network that was relaunched at Tru tv over a decade ago is coming back on May 6. According to Cord Cutters News it will be carried locally on KUCW 30.4 where one of the copies of Escape is now. This could be interesting. If nothing else then it probably eliminates another duplicate channel since KUTH 32.4 also carries Escape. I have to wonder whether the public will really be interested in people who are accused of doing really bad things. There was a time when watching live court proceedings was a really big thing. (Those who are old enough to remember O.J. Simpson can vouch for that) Today I think there's so much insane reality in the news that people don't even want to watch I have doubts they want to be exposed to even more. Look at what happened with the very highly publicized return of Murphy Brown last fall. That was a complete disaster for CBS. (I had the same misgivings about that venture too, for what it's worth.)

It went live sometime this morning. Escape was still on 30.4 earlier, but as of 11:30 the CourtTV feed has replaced it. The PSIP ID hasn't been updated yet, but I figure that should come along any time now.
