Where are they now? I just thought I throw out several names of people I used to listen to on the radio and I'm wondering if folks can tell me what they are up to nowadays. Some of them may have passed away too. I used to do a talk show in the late 90s on KWUN and did this topic and found out on the air that Herb Jepko had passed away maybe three years earlier so I understand some of these folks may no longer be with us but that would be good to know too. Please know that many of these may be spelled wrong. Bob Lee (KSL and KALL/KNRS), Brad Stone (sports on KALL and later KFNZ), Ray Bishop (Ray in your radio 'round the breakfast table, mornings on 1400 KSRR), Merta Beeman (Monday night show for children on KSRR), Jim Fuchuck (KFNZ), Hans Petersen (afternoons on KALL, later mornings on KISN AM 570 and KUMT, the Mountain 105.7), Darcy Markaizy (reporter for KSL radio), Walter Platts (KLO), Hank Hathaway (KKDS/KDYL shopping show), Martin Davies (KTKK, KCNR, KWUN, KIQN, last I heard he'd been arrested for growing marijuana in his garden), Tom Bradshaw (KLUB, KDYL), Dave Hebertson (KSL afternoon news), Tim Lewis (KSL, KCNR), Michael G. Cavinaw (KALL FM 94.1, KMXB Sleepless in Salt Lake, among others), Golden Delicious (Donald Packard, KTKK, KCNR), Christopher Wilde (KWUN and KIQN), Pepper Stevens (KWUN), Tom Bach, Jim Brayden, Mick Mackey … and some national hosts Neal Myers and Myrna Lamb who were both on Talknet a late night talkshow that KALL 910 carried and Cindy Garvy who did an evening talk show that was carried by KLO back in the 90s. Any information that anyone has on any of these people would be cool. Also, if anyone else can mention folks they liked to liste to, or hated to listen to for that matter, that would be great. Thank you everyone.

As far as I know, Golden Delicious (Donald Packard) is still alive and living in Salt Lake. He had a bit part in Troll 2 as the eccentric shopkeeper Sandy Mahar, but that was filmed during the time his show was on KTKK in the early 1990's. Tom Barberi is still around, but he's no longer on air in Salt Lake due to multiple sclerosis and other health issues. Up until about 18 months ago, Tom was one of the hosts on Utah Car Cents, heard on KZNS Saturdays from 10 AM-Noon. I seem to recall reading that Hank Hathaway had passed away recently, but I'm not sure about that.

Hey Friend...I just spotted this topic and thought I would at least give a quick reply on Joey. I did get a post card from him 3 or 4 years ago. Typical Joey style...it just had 2 check boxes on it that said "alive" and "dead" "Please check one". I checked "alive" and told him to call me and sent it back. He never did. As far as I know, Joey never did anything after WKRP (KRPN). He stayed there for a little while after I left (February of 1991), but when the station got sold to Chris Devine (Marathon Broadcasting at the time) and they took over and put "Fever 107.9" on, they didn't keep or need any of the local talent so that was it. We kept in touch for a long long time but lost touch quite a while ago. Joey has never really gotten into the internet. I know at one time he had AOL and actually was around for a little while on the internet but his AOL account went away when his dad didn't like him tying up the phone line....yes LONG while ago. I just tried to call him just now and got no answer. Kind of a hermit. So there's your Joey story. Will let you know if I hear from him. Joey was a GREAT talent and I loved his voice. Meanwhile, I thought of you just a few days ago when I was in Logan and saw the turnoff to Hyrum. I even told my wife "Hey! My friend Friend lives over there!" It was 10:30 at night so no I wasn't going to call or stop by.
