Either it's end of year transmitter maintenance time, or at least a couple of Wasatch Front radio stations have been experiencing technical issues as a result of our weekend storm. While KTKK is back on the air, I noticed during a band scan this afternoon that KLGN (1390 AM Logan) is now off the air. Anyone in the Cache Valley area know if this is temporary, or has KLGN gone silent? Hopefully it's only temporary, as the only way I can hear the station is on AM. I think the station was off air for a couple days shortly after Christmas last year as well.

KLGN is back on 1390 this morning, loud and clear in Ogden--thank you, Cache Valley Radio Group! Now I can hear my favorite local radio station again and get my daily "fix" of Sinatra, Sammy, and Dean-O.

If anyone from the Cache Valley Media Group reads this board: KLGN 1390 has been off the air again since Friday morning. I tried sending an email to let you know, but clicking on the "contact" link on your web page at www.1390klgn.com/contacts/ only brings up the station's snail mail address and phone numbers. I would call the station, but there's no one in the office on weekends.

I'd be surprised if they don't already know about the station being off the air. There just might not be anything they can do about it at the moment.
The Cache Valley websites are an interesting hodgepodge of different levels of contact. No email at all for the KLGN site you mentioned. KVNU's has an online contact form. Q92's has an email address. And that's not to mention the prominent Christmas Countdown on KLGN's site. You might want to try "KLGN at cvradio dot com" if there's still an issue and you want to bother. I also have another address that will almost certainly get to somebody if you want to drop me a private message.

Thanks much for the info, CA. I just checked 1390 a few minutes ago, and the station is now back on the air. The same thing happened within 24 hours of my previous posting about KLGN being off the air, so maybe someone from CVMG does read this board. I just thought it was odd that KLGN was off the air, but KVNU was still on along with the group's other stations. As far as I know, all the studios for the Cache Valley Media Group stations are located in the same "Radio Ranch" building, so I'd think that someone would notice if one of the stations was off the air. I'm sure that the frigid weather in Logan on Friday and Saturday probably caused some problems with the transmitters: according to the morning hosts on KVNU, the low in Logan Friday morning was 24 below!
