I saw that channel was running the digital equivalent of dead air since at least last week, but tonight was the first time I saw any programming on it. I guess this is the preview before the official launch which is Monday the 3rd. It's owned by Sony and they're partnering with Univision stations around the country to launch it. The focus will be on movies, unlike the similar services like MeTV, AntennaTV, This, etc.

I have to agree. Sony has already made deals with several of the other multicast services, so there isn't much left. I like having choices, but this doesn't seem like it's going to go all that far. It has to be appealing to a very old demo. I suppose it's an improvement over wasting the bits on the DTV channel, but not by much.
As of now it's still running in preview mode, though I can't tell the difference between what's on now and the official launch. The whole month's schedule is up on their website.
