The microwave system that carries the audio for the HD-2 channels on KSL-FM (102.7), KSFI-FM (100.3) and KRSP-FM (103.5), as well as a bunch of other stuff between Triad Center and Farnsworth Peak, is down.
It failed on Friday, and is still not functioning. As soon as it comes back, you should hear audio on the HD-2's again.

Is that also what brings to the internet to the mountain? I haven't been able to monitor our transmitter since early Friday morning ;D

Yeah, it's just a "big ol' IP system". Even the main phones are IP. It's all back up and running now. Two cards failed at this end, so it took a couple of trips to the mountain, to swap cards and get it back up. Also had the DTV Utah thing last night, so lots of extra traffic on the old road up there.

If it's not top secret, how drivable is that road with a normal passenger vehicle?

We drive it in 4WD vehicles much of the time....Jeep, Hummer, etc. You have to have permission to go up, a dash-board identification sign, and many keys to the gates, though. Getting up the final switchback, at the top, is a problem in winter.
