I was listening earlier tonight and it sounded like there were two transmitters on air at the same time. One was running regular programming and the other was running dead carrier. The two were fighting it out and kept switching back and forth. Odd part was that tuning off to 93.9, I could hear regular programming uninterrupted under what I guess is the IBOC hash. Best guess is that the main and aux were both on-air, main running dead carrier and aux running regular program. The aux probably has a wider frequency range since they probably didn't bother to add IBUZ to the aux, so I could hear that off on a sideband under Da Buzz. That's just speculation though.
Anybody else hear it or hear what happened?

I heard what you mentioned last night around 11 (after reading the post above). The main didn't even sound like it was on, as I was getting very staticy reception. I'm guessing what I heard was the aux on only. I don't think the main was on at all, but I could be wrong. All is well today though.

Could be they turned the main off when they figured out what was going on. It was about 45 minutes after I heard it that i actually posted. I figured they'd get it straight pretty quickly. Can't make money if the station can't be heard, right?

I think it was this past weekend a number of stations, 99.5, 93.3, 100.3 (I think) were really sounding strange and muffled. Like all the stations were jacked for a bit. 99.5 actually was cutting on and off there for a bit. it was in the afternoon. Wonder if that was related? Wonder if the antenna farm had a major maintenance project.

Would be funny if one of the TV stations was tooling around with turning off their analog and in the process, messed up those FMs as well. I doubt it though.
From what I've been told by a guy that works for a communications company here in Salt Lake is that Farnsworth is staffed 24/7. There are guys up there all the time who make sure everything is running smooth. Maybe they both fell asleep and forgot to watch KODJ.
Its back to normal now.
