20-4 Vida TV is gone. What happens now? Let the speculation begin.

Gone away, or just down because of weather? Have you called them?

The 20.4 subchannel no longer exists, so I consider that gone. But no I haven't called. I can't get enough signal right now to see if there's anything new. That channel is borderline on good days, but when there's bad weather up there it's just too low even though it shouldn't be.

Aaaaaaaand it's back, same as it was.
Is it just me or are there a lot more issues with PSIP than there should be? KPNZ has been missing it for months. KULX was missing it for a few days last week. I don't get it.

Don't even get me started on PSIP and EPG issues. I've thought about becoming the "expert" on that stuff, and try to get everybody straightened out, but I'm afraid it would be a thankless and never-ending job.
Too many clocks are off. Too many EPG's are blank or just wrong. Some sets can't even find Azteca. KPDR has no audio on 19-5. etc, etc, etc

19-5? I can't even see a 19-5.
Which Azteca doesn't show up? 39 is always weaker for me than 25.
But you're right, there's so much that's screwed up. I wonder why the FCC doesn't enforce the rules. But that problem goes way beyond just PSIP.....

Maybe the 19-5 is just an old channel that's in my box's memory...probably some old info from when they were setting up the religious channel on 19-2. I'll have to re-scan it.
A lot of sets here don't get any audio or video from 25 or 39. I think it has something to do with how they have structured their PSIP. The sets just say "Data Channel", or something similar.
BTW, I saw a signal (not enough to get video lock) on channel 12 (Daystar) on Thursday and Friday. It seems to be gone now. Was this just some testing? Or, weather-related?

According to Cache Free TV (http://cachefreetv.blogspot.com/2011/11/return-of-logans-kutf-dt1-channel-121.html) KUTF came back on the air about a year ago. SLC is right about at the limit of their usable signal according to FCC estimates, and those tend to be optimistic in my experience.

I wonder if I only received them due to some sort of "ducting" because of the ice and snow, frozen ground conditions. I've seen a tiny bit of signal at other times of the year. (We need a spy up that way, or a Slingbox).

As far as I know KUTF is only running Daystar all day. If you wanted to see it the online stream is probably a lot easier than trying to pick up KUTF.

I wasn't all that interested in watching them, but was just curious if they are even on the air. They originally had a permit for the channel-45 translator in Salt Lake, but I'm not sure what ever happened to that. Also, there was a channel 3 in Price, that was planning to move up to Santaquin, I think, operating on 11.

Ch 45 is KSUD-LP, currently in analog with a CP to flash-cut to digital. That's owned by Word of God Fellowship, which is the same company that owns KUTF so I guess that's Daystar. There's nothing in the FCC files about being silent, so presumably they're on the air.
There also was co-owned KCBU/3 and KUBX-LP/58, but those are both deleted. KCBU was going to move to RF11.
