For the first time in many years, KSL is not number one. It holds at number two but KSFI has fallen below the top 3 in 6+. Clear Channel must be happy, new #1 overall (ZHT) and probably healthy demos.
KSOP apparently decided to become a subscriber, they're pulling a 2.9 6+. This puts them at second in the country race behind KUBL by quite a bit.
Their cume numbers are not listed, though.

Radio-info has the cume, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how they sort the data. www.radio-info.com/markets/salt-lake-cityThe interesting thing about KSL & KSFI are the steady erosions over the last 3 months. ZHT went up and they do have great overall numbers, but it was more KSL going down that made ZHT #1. Seems odd given that this is a big election year and that should bode well for talk stations. I know this is sacrilege to some but could the lack of national shows be hurting them? KNRS is up a little from where they were a year ago but it's not significant, so I lean toward no. Differing opinions? To nobody's great surprise I'm sure, K-Fan's ratings cratered. They barely registered. The Zone's ratings almost doubled, though it's still pretty low overall. Anyone actually listening to K-Fan? Have they got a game plan yet? Their website is pretty much useless and their Facebook page isn't saying alot. The End continues to do poorly. Mid 1's ain't gonna cut it for a full market commercial station. How long before it's gone again? When they're ready to relaunch K-Fan, might they put it on 101.9FM? It's been there before, back when then-Citadel bought what was then KKAT to shut it down. it stayed for about 4 months until Pop-FM was launched.

Is the Breeze really that good?? I guess the numbers tell the story. I'm a bit surprised.
Yes I know they call themselves "Now", just their calls still say Breeze to me.

Yuh, the Breeze is that good. At least I think so. They are my favorite music station.
But I listen more to talk, and I don't find anything to listen to on KSL any more, except sometimes I listen to the morning news, but Amanda eventually drives me away. And I got tired of Doug Wright pushing the Bonneville/LDS line promoting illegal immigration. KSL's afternoon Web program is just amateurish and the evening "project" sounds like it is programed by bickering children. Something went very wrong at KSL a year or 2 ago. I'm guessing it's when they hired that liberal LA Times guy to run things. I guess he's gone now, but nothing's changed.

Apparently the sinking of conservative talk isn't limited to SLC. There's an excellent discussion going on at the New York Radio Message Board that talks about the situation there and mentions a number of other markets. I'd suggest anyone interested take a look. www.musicradio77.com/wwwboard/messages/397380.htmlTo me it sounds like Nightside Project belongs more on Comedy Central than a serious news/talk station, but that's just my opinion.
