If you look at page 5 of the STA document here you'll see exactly where they say it is. I wonder if they're actually using that tree. It looks like it could be about 20 feet tall.

When I think of "beautiful music" I'm thinking Mantovani, 101 Strings, Ferrante & Teicher and other similar artists. Is that what is on KVWJ and what you mean, amanuensis?

I've been following the notices of applications for new LPFM stations that have started to trickle out from the filing window last month. The only one that's really caught my attention so far is from Weber State, specifically credited to "KWCR, student radio organization." The application is for 100 watts at 93.7 with an antenna at about 44th St and Washington Blvd in South Ogden.
I'm really surprised by this. It seemed like they had a huge headache on their hands with fines, challenges to the license, the inability to find a new transmitter location, etc. I thought when they threw in the towel and sold 88.1 to EMF that it would be the end of them broadcasting and they would have the relative ease of being an online service only, not subject to FCC regulations. Maybe the students actually want to be on the air.

That's really interesting that they aren't running the Juan format. Is it possible that you were hearing a distant station and not KTUB?

One of my jobs as moderator is to keep spam off this forum. Recently there has been a sharp increase in the number of spammers applying for access and it's gotten out of control. To combat these spammers I am beginning to ban access to the forum from areas of the world outside of North America where spammers have been applying from. This is very unlikely to cause any problems for legitimate users but if you receive a warning "You have been banned from this forum" and you haven't done anything to warrant a banning, try connecting a different way including deactivating any VPN you might be using.

Yes Broadway owns 700 now, but you're right that Clear Channel did own it a long time ago. I wasn't thinking of previous owners of current sports stations.

(Sorry I'm late on this. It's been a busy weekend.)
The first thing to take a look at is the Christmas music. For reference: My 99.5 flipped sometime before this ratings period started; The Eagle flipped Nov 10, the second day of the period; FM 100.3 flipped Nov 17.
FM 100.3 won, of course. Their jump wasn't as big as in years past but they were already so high that they actually had the best "December" numbers going back as far as my records go (2010). They also had the 4th highest rating in the country.
My 99.5 got some love too and had an enormous jump.
In its waning days The Eagle did not fair well and went into a tailspin. I was afraid of that. They were oddly running a combination of non-country Christmas music that could be heard elsewhere mixed with country Christmas, but with a high amount of repetition. FM 100.3 and My 99.5 had the straight ahead Christmas market covered, but even for listeners who waded through that to hear the country songs there were too many repeats too often IMO.
In other news, KODJ and Now 97.9 took big hits this month while Mix 105.1 jumped big.
Bob's slide last month was followed by a smaller slide this one.
Power 94.9/101.9 also took a slide.
And The Beat posted a decent percentage gain for the second month in a row.

While checking the status of KDYL for Ken in another thread I checked on the status of other silent AMs and found that apparently KTUB applied for and was granted special temporary authority for 10 watts from a whip antenna located at the Seventh Day Adventist Church next to the Mountain America Credit Union on 9000 S in West Jordan. (The FCC apparently doesn't think engineering STAs are worth including in their daily reports. Thanks FCC.)
There are a couple of interesting things in their filing. Of immediate interest is that they state they resumed operation on Oct 16, almost a year after going silent. Their contour projection shows they should be audible in the Kerns/Sandy/Riverton area. Can anyone in that area confirm hearing anything?
They also say that there are 4 possible sites they're looking at for a new permanent site. They don't say what those are, but that there are that many I find intriguing. Lack of land space for AM sites has been an ongoing topic for a while. Could there be space for a new site or are these sites all multiplexing on existing sites? I'm going to be very interested to see where they end up. I couldn't even guess where that might be.

I haven't heard anything. Not even an application to remain silent.
(And while we're at it, I haven't heard of any new news for KOGN or KMRI either.)

Its on air status is erratic but no it hasn't been truly on the air since Aug 27. The RF signal is there but there's no usable data. It's still licensed. Their website was www.kpowder.com but that is also nonfunctional.

You're assuming it was a mistake. If that was a corporate feed then corporate should know it was still on. I don't have anything to back it up but my impression is that it's become quite common for large retail operations to do their own music services. It's cheap and it allows them to control the narrative in their stores.
Not all radio stations end the Christmas music at midnight on the 26th (or even earlier.) It's worth pointing out that according to the Christmas story we will still be in the Christmas season until Jan 5. The 12 Days of Christmas STARTS on Dec 25.

It's fine to call it Rock 106.7. We all know what that means, and the KAAZ calls bear no relation to the format I've ever been able to think of.
I don't remember iHeart ever having a sports station here. Am I forgetting one?

The Bob FM and Hank FM formats are both owned/licensed by Kroeger Media so there are bound to be similarities, but I think the 3 DJ shifts are all local.
The missing booster was back up by late Tuesday afternoon. (107.1's is still down.)
The "December" ratings are due in a few days. That covers Nov 9 to Dec 6. That's going to be almost completely when The Eagle was Christmas. The rating report after that will be Dec 7 to Jan 3, or 19 days of Eagle Christmas and 9 days of Hank. The first real numbers we'll have to get an idea of how Hank is doing won't be for 2 months. For reference, KSOP(AM) hasn't been listed in the ratings since March 2021. Any guesses on what Hank's numbers might be? At one time classic country did OK here. Maybe it's time again?
