An application has been put in to move Ch 19 KPDR from its currently licensed location on Ensign Peak over to Farnsworth Peak. I still haven't ever seen them. Are they running anything interesting these days?

I think this one may turn in to a Soap Opera... Looks like the application to move to FP (I think it might be the Bengerter Comm site) is filed by the people who had the original license. They are off the air right now, having filed for an STA to go dark. But, some files show a whole new owner than the ones who filed the two applications.
Stay tuned.

I'd have to go back to double check, but I believe the original owners sold the station last year to the 3 people who own it now. There was a transfer of control from the 3 people individually to an LLC owned by the same 3 people, but that's more of a technicality. Is that what you were looking at?

The FCC website data shows "CRAIG AND MARILYN CAPLES & WILLIAM MITCHELL" in Las Vegas as the licensee, but the last Ownership Report I see, shows "MCUSA" in Pleasant Grove, Utah. That's who I talked to.

I think I see what's going on here, but keep in mind I'm not a lawyer or an FCC suit. Both of the ownership reports showing were filed last summer, one by each licensee. The application for assignment of license was filed Dec 1 2009 and approved Mar 9 2010. Then an Extension of Consummation was filed Aug 10 2010. That was more than a month after the first ownership report by the buyers (Caples/Mitchell) was filed. The Consummation itself was filed by seller (MCUSA) Aug 12 2010. The followup ownership report was filed Aug 17 2010 by seller listing that they transferred the license. Everything after that seems to be listed as Caples/Mitchell.

That puts their antenna top about 48 feet below the ground level at Farnsworth Peak. I wonder how it will affect the ham and BAS repeaters up there. Also, I wonder how it will affect reception of KPDR toward the south...I was getting a great signal from them at Midvale, from the Ensign Peak location.

I have a better explanation than that. The site listed on the app is 1 minute north of the DTV Utah site. I think it's a typo. Somebody probably typed 40 40 instead of 40 39. Not as interesting but much more likely in my opinion.
