101.9 The End is heavily promoting someone returning. They're running a spot where they acknowledge the return of the station and say that we should tune in at 6AM on Monday to find out who else is returning. Call me a cynic but I have this feeling it's a concert announcement. Hope that's wrong 'cause it would be lame. Any other ideas?

I heard this too and the only thing that came to mind was Chunga and/or Mister...

Chunga and Mister would be smart.

Is there any burned bridges though, on either side?

Good question. I've been out of the market so long now that I couldn't tell you much more

My first thought was Chunga and/or Mister as well. I'm guessing that was 100% intentional on their part. Posts from around the time of the resurrection of The End were suggesting it then as well.
If nothing else, they've got people talking about the station.

So, it was just some promo for a David Grey concert?? Lame radio stunts....

Okay that is lame. I'm sorry, but if I heard the original announcement and then the David Gray announcement, I would be disappointed. I feel kind of bad for The End.

I airchecked it at 6AM and heard the announcement about the evening janitor returning. Now I'm not a big End fan so maybe there's some inside joke that I'm missing but I just went "wow, they did even worse than I thought they were going to do" and gave up. There wasn't anything else of significance that was announced at 6. Did they make a big deal out of the concert? Either way it's not that much of a difference. That was certainly a fail. I'm tempted to say it was an epic fail. Then again, does anyone really care? The company is gone. Is the staff just having fun until midnight when the station turns into a pumpkin?
Crazy man. Crazy.

I guess Chunga did make it back. Interesting. Also, unrelated... anyone notice any subtle changes in KSOP's on-air sound??

It does look like Chunga is back. What is citadel thinking?? I know I will not be listening. I had enjoyed The End up until I heard Chunga again. I'll be going elsewhere for my music.

I hope they play more music as opposed to talk more. I can't stand Chunga, his ego is too big for the show. Kinda glad I'm no longer in SLC.

I too, was disapointed to hear Chunga back on the End. And from the little bit of the show this week that I've been able to stand, it doesn't sound like he's bringing anything new - in fact, it sounds like the same old thing. I almost get the sense that Court is annoyed by the whole thing.
That said, does anybody know the name of the station Chunga was working for in Boston? I've been trying to find anything online about it, but have yet to find any sort of work history of him doing anything there.

Thanks wallywombat - however, I remain confused. From what I've now been able to find, thanks to your post, it looks like Chunga might have done one week trial thing out in Boston sometime in May.
If you hear Chunga talk about it, however, he makes it sound like he's been working in Boston for the past few months. Beginning to look more and more like Chunga is telling stories... which, shouldn't really surprise anyone.
