That means that either Harold Camping/Family Radio was wrong or this is a major disappointment.
Assuming for the moment that it's the former, what does this mean for Family Radio's stations? They were banking heavily on being right, and where do they go from here? From what I've heard, they have very little cash and their credibility has been heavily damaged. Most of their net worth is tied up in radio station licenses including 91.7 KUFR Salt Lake. There's an excellent writeup in this week's Northeast Radio Watch (http://www.fybush.com/NERW/2011/110523/nerw.html) which concentrates on stations in the northeast, but applies fairly well to the stations in this area as well. What do you all think will happen? Will some of the stations (particularly smaller markets) be on the auction block? Will everything roll along just as it has been? I'm really not sure.

Too bad KUFR couldn't become an additional repeater for Utah State Radio. Then again, with the public radio audience as thin as it is in the PPM panel, maybe KUER and KBYU-FM wouldn't welcome the intrusion into Utah's most populous county.

Good point. Don't forget KCPW, another major player. There's KRCL too, but I don't think they really go after the same audience.
Word from the San Francisco Chronicle is that Camping is now saying that the bleep is going to hit the fan all at once on October 21 instead of being a gradual buildup like he originally thought (this time around.) Next question is how many of his followers are going to go along with it and what that means to the organization.

We asked the KUFR folks back in March. The silence on the other end of the phone line was deafening. Maybe we should ask again?!? Late Breaking Update.....it's supposed to be October 21st instead.
