Lance, over at radioinsight.com just posted about a potential post-ho-ho flip for Today's 106.5. He postulates that a jack-fm type format as 103.1 is doing pretty good even with a weaker signal and that signal being moved to a trust. radioinsight.com/2010/theres-a-lake-in-utah/Your thoughts?

The domain registration is being done by Mark Monitor whose specialty is buying domains that might be covered under trademark. There is something that I didn't find (hint) that makes me think this is just one possibility that might be under consideration. Best to not spill those beans yet.
P.S. Anyone who thinks that averaging in the mid-ones on a Humpy rimshot is "solid" doesn't know the market IMO.

Well, there are no remotes scheduled beyond December 31: www.todays1065.com/pages/events/But the site may be designed to only show the current month's events. A flip doesn't make sense if you are cuming over 300,000 and easily into high 3-shares. Of course that's 6-plus, but hey ... if the other stations were murdering it 18-34 females, I doubt their 6+ numbers would look so healthy. Is a Jack-style format an easier sell? I just don't see the advantage of switching from a female-oriented ad buy market to a male-oriented ad market. Most agencies want to sell to women.

I really think that Salt Lake is going to have a few flips coming up here soon. Why would Simmons run Mix 107.9 and Movin' 100.7 similar formats something will break there 100.7? KUUU I'm thinking that will stay? The Pointe 104.7? Umm not sure I like it but is it getting the ratings? KOSY? That would be a format flip shocker but could they just be re-branding it as The Lake with the same format?

CC wouldn't take another whack at Country, would they?? Stranger things have happened...
Yeah, I wondered about Jack's ratings... we shall see.
Speaking of format flips, just FYI, my internet station is flipping to Hot Country after the New Year! I'm actually having pretty good luck getting signed up for various free music services.
Wish me luck! (the station is linked in my sig)
Merry Christmas, folks!

So I guess there's no changes at the moment for 106.5. They would've changed by now. Seattle, otoh, had some major flips over the last month or so.

New Years Day has been another historical time for flips, but given that 106.5 was in holiday mode for a month and a half I would have guessed as you did.

Well, now we know.
VERY nice bit of misdirection by Clear Channel. The real home of 106.5 The Lake is in Cleveland at the former Mix 106.5 there. That just launched less than an hour ago. No change at Today's 106.5 here.
