I haven't heard a peep out of KUCW for a few days. Is it me or is there something going on with their transmitter again?

I haven't been able to receive channel 30 either. I had assumed that maybe that big wind had rotated my antenna a bit, but I'm still getting the other channels. So, since I'm not the only one, I'm guessing that they must be running on low power or something. I notice that they are O.K. on Comcast.

They went off on Wednesday afternoon. They are back now. I think they only have a single-cabinet transmitter (one amplifier).

I had to leave the receiver on for about 30 seconds before it could pick up anything at all, and even now it's breaking up badly. The signal level is constant at about 46% but it isn't watchable. Very strange.

They blew up their final (amplifier), and are running on the IPA (Intermediate Power Amp) only. The power is about 10% right now. Bob spent Thanksgiving Day up there working on it.

For some reason the gremlins know when holidays are and make sure to do their mischief then.
Thanks to Bob for giving up his holiday for the viewers.

30 is improved a bit now, but still not quite at the watchable stage for me. Now there's a new problem with KBYU. I'm getting a signal with the PSIP data, but no video or audio and the receiver (I think incorrectly) is saying there's no signal. I know the announcement that they're going HD said that they were going to make that switch on Dec 1 so I don't think the FUBAR is a coincidence. I did rescan a few times and still no joy.

No telling what might have been going on with KBYU that early in the morning. They are playing with it...they had 720p HD on 11-2 and 11-3 yesterday afternoon, but back to 480i right now, across the board. They might have had PSIP messed up (experimenting).
