Looks like the efforts of KUTV to provide news for K-Jazz have fizzled. Both the 9AM and 9PM newscasts on 14 are gone. Do you think this means anything for the future of the KUTV/KJZZ partnership, or just that the news couldn't compete?

I've been told that this is public knowledge now... KJZZ is moving to KSL studios next month. No newscasts are planned at this time.

Thanks for the info Ken. If I were KSL with its long tradition I don't think I'd want to compete against myself either. Of course I would never have done what KUTV was doing either, so.....

This seems to make sense, since LHM "Media" is located across the street in Energy Solutions Arena. I suppose this means one less master control operator position though... although I thought I heard KATU KUTV has been handling that for them for a time now.

Yes, master control for KJZZ has been at KUTV for quite a while. According to Wikipedia (not he most reliable source) KUTV is the master control for all of the Four Points Media stations around the country and even produces a newscast for WTVX in West Palm Beach Florida. With that kind of infrastructure they probably added KJZZ rather economically.
