So this is Utah and well, we know how sometimes things aren't always as they seem or better yet, as the general populous would like them to seem. I know a bunch of you out there listen to Howard Stern, or have at some time.
That being said, and no judgments for it, cuz I listen every day on my Sirius, they are featuring all the best game shows they've done on air this week. They even hired Tom Bergeron(sp) to announce the shows. So far I've really enjoyed how they put it all together. I am not a long-time listener, it's only really been since 2005 so this older stuff is great to hear.
I was also very impressed with the History of Howard Stern. They did an incredible job producing that series. It really sounded professional, like it was on A&E or even PBS (not the content, obviously). I've just been blown away by the talent and effort that goes in to the day-to-day shows and these specials.
I don't have a long commute so I don't get much time to sample the rest of Sirius except for the 80's, the Pulse and the New Country and Prime Country channels. I am excited to see what this merger does for the customer like myself who might be able to save money on opting for less programming.
You closet Stern fans, what do you think?

I catch Howard 100 sometimes. The show is better now that they do not seem compelled to explore the boundaries of satellite freedom. It is more relaxed and flows better.

I'll have to try it. According to Arbitron *cough*arbitrary*cough* Satellite Radio ratings, his show is the most listened to thing all day. I've not tuned in since he first came on and I was confused.
What about Bubba? I really liked his show at first, but now it is on when I'm at work and he doesn't have all the re-running like Stern.
Does anyone sample the Bryant Park Project on the NPR channel?
I'm a fan of Frank DeCaro, well, really his co-host/producer, on 109 or Michaelangelo Signorile's spirited left-leaning talk radio. He lets his guests speak and pushes on hard topics.

Haven't listened to Bubba. I think he's a little to rough-edged for me. Howard has class at least and a good show/delivery. Bubba's a little too far for my tastes.

I haven't listened to much of Howard Stern, but I liked his movie and the rise to staredom. It brought back a lot of memories. I watched his TV show too! I just don't have sat radio. Did a Salt Lake station ever re-broadcast his show back in the day? Anyone ever have the guts?

No one had the guts, bopper. About the closest things got was the hot talk AM station that is now a satellator oldies channel 860... actually, I think it was KFNZ before "K-Fan"? I forget. Citadel bought it out around the time Q99-5 was also bought out I think. That is all before my time so I'm just trying to remember. www.oldradio.com/archives/stations/slc.htm - great resource but hasn't been updated in far too long now.

This is a can of worm, but..... For those who have listened to Stern for a long time, how does he compare now to how he's been in the past? The last time I got a regular dose of him was back in 1993. (Was he even syndicated back then?) Didn't care for him, but the cow-orkers at the TV station did.
