This month FM 100.3 slid a little but still holds a commanding lead. Clustermate Arrow had a big jump for the second month in a row and came in second. The other classic hits station, KODJ, posted its own big gain and came in third.
Now 97.9 continued the trend of big gainers with a nice one after being off for a couple of months while KSL had its own recovery after a couple of down months.
X96 continues its upward trend as well.
Z104 recovers part of the big drop it had last month, as did Classical 89.
KNRS had a big drop for the second month in a row but that doesn't surprise me much in the summer. The Presidential nomination race will be heating up over the next few months and we know what that means.
Two Cumulus stations (K-Bear and B98.7) both returned to more average ratings after being up the past couple of months.
And we need to have a talk about The Beat. We now have a year's worth of ratings. The numbers have showed a steady increase over the last year, but they have been very small. 92.5 is still doing terribly. Except for Cumulus' all-syndicated talker (which is barely worth talking about), the only stations lower than The Beat are sports, non-comms, and HD2's. If Broadway cares about what ratings they get at 92.5 they need to acknowledge that Rhythmic isn't working. I say it's time to stick a fork in it. It's done.

I wonder if the ratings for KSL are increasing right now because of BYU football.

Historically KSL does increase between August and September, but it's very difficult to attribute it to anything specific. The end of summer and upcoming elections also happen around that time.
