I listened to KOOL the other day for the first time in about a year. I was surprised that they still had a (voice tracked?) DJ talking between the song sets. I am assuming voice tracked because when he gave the weather forecast, he never mentioned the current temperature. And he never gave the precise time. Instead saying something like, "it's a little after 4 here in Salt Lake City ...".

I don't get to listen much either, but I did on I think it was Monday and was surprised to hear a DJ between about 4 and 5. I wasn't sure if this was a new thing, but he did say something like "tell your friends we're back" and played a request. I've been listening again today and there was just vanilla automation from about 12:40 until 2 when the DJ, Tom Robin, came on. He's been playing a bunch of requests and asking listeners to send them in through the app. (Side note, why just through the app?) So did this just start or am I going to look like an idiot again?

I guess Tom Robin does the 2-6 shift live. I'm listening now and he just mentioned the "right now" temperature, saying something like, "the high today is going to be 92 and right now it is 92. Hey, we hit it."
