The idea is to imagine you're given ownership and complete control of 96.3. You have the resources (money, personnel, etc.) to do whatever you want with the signal without having to worry about higher ups on the corporate ladder, what clustermate stations are doing, etc. You can leave it as is, completely change it, or anything in between, but the ideas should be at least plausible/possible. What do you do?
I don't think I'd change anything. The station does well and the demos must be pretty low.

I would do more with X96 Classic on their HD2 signal. Unless there are significant areas that their translator on 95.9 gets into that 96.3 doesn't, I would change 95.9 to a simulcast of 96.3 HD2. And, if there are any old radio from hell air checks from back in the 90s and before, I would throw some of them into the mix on X96 classic. Maybe even other air checks as wel.

I'd either bring a consultant in to work with RFH or ditch it altogether. It's generally very low-energy and far too self-serving and long-winded. Their target demo grew up in an era when radio was entertaining and, with limited exception, they seem to have forgotten that. I'd also spend more time with the younger air staff. I don't think the air staff have to be the same age as the demo, but they do have to relate to the demo. When they refer to a 10-year-old song as a "classic from back in the day", there's something wrong. I'd leave the music mix as-is. They hit it well there.

I was going to make the suggestion of putting X96's HD2 on the 95.9 later, but now's good too. The Lake Mountain translators do get out quite a bit further than the mathematical coverage area would suggest, at least to the north. I would be surprised if they didn't do the same to the south toward central Utah. That said, Salt Lake stations don't sell to central Utah listeners. I'm also pretty sure that in the Provo/Orem area the signal is stronger than 96.3 from Farnsworth. Both of those added together don't justify duplicating the X96 main signal in my opinion. There's too much of an opportunity to let the majority of listeners who can't receive 96.3 HD2 over the air hear it.

Just got a vehicle with HD radio. What is on 96.3 HD3? It sounded like sports but I couldn't stick on the station long enough to find out.
