Is it just me , but it seems some AM drive every half hour traffic reporters are contracted. Weber County pronounced Webber,Davis County pronounced Davies,BANGERTER pronounced Bangetty., Frequent recorded AM news with times played at wrong hours. Seems like it's on auto pilot other than the recorded two minute twice hourly newscasts.

Welcome to "HUB and spoke" hell.
For about a decade, iheartmedia has centralized traffic and news cut-ins to a few hubs throughout the country that do it pre-recorded for all the smaller markets. I can't remember if Salt Lake comes out of Denver or Phoenix.
Here in California, Los Angeles does the cut ends for most of the Central valley and for San Diego.
KNRS has had notoriously bad traffic reports for a long time, which is a shame considering their ratings certainly justify better quality. More than once timpanogos Highway has turned into Topanga highway. LOL

Well I did notice an opening for a morning & afternoon traffic reporter recently. They may just be in a “lull” while trying to fill the role.

I rarely listen to KNRS, but I'm pretty sure that Lee West's traffic reports on KSOP AM & FM are "live and local". Of course, Rikki Meece and the rest of the KSL traffic crew are the 800 pound gorilla of traffic reports along the Wasatch Front, and you're not likely to hear them mispronouncing any Utah highway or city names. 🙂
