Saw this today. www.radioworld.com/tech-and-gear/the-sturgeon-resurfaces-in-nevadaIt's about the famous KFRC "Sturgeon" remote studio, which has been rescued and is being restored. Anyone know where the old KRSP Rock Assault Vehicle wound up? How about some other station remote units? I remember the old WBML "Music Mobile" (60's, Macon, Georgia), which was replaced by a newer model of VW bus, being given away as a prize, complete with turntables and vintage RCA audio board.

I don't know if this is the same thing but, I remember, when I was a kid, them talking about Bessie, the KJQ milk beast. They had some kind of a sponsorship with Creama Weber Dairy as I recall. (I have no clue how to spell the name of the dairy. Sorry.) I think the same vehicle may have become the X96 milk beast at one point in its career. b

To this day, I still remember the radio & TV commercials for Cream O' Weber milk that aired during the early 1990's: "If it's not Cream O' Weber, spit it out!!" 🙂 Apparently Cream O' Weber dairy products are still made today, but they're produced at a plant in Boise. The Salt Lake Cream O' Weber facility was closed about 10 years ago, and production was shifted to the Boise plant.

I had forgotten about those ads. Thank you for correcting my spelling. That's cool about the acronym. I think KJQ/X96 used that slogan as well when talking about the Milk Beast. Good times!
