Since the thread on Cuzzin Brad's death has been moved, I'm going to give another mention to "Resurrection Radio", which now airs Sunday evenings from 7-9 PM on 103.1 The Wave. Judging by what I've heard so far, it's clearly a replacement show for "Unrest On the Seventh Day". I'd be interested in hearing opinions about "Resurrection Radio" from fans of "Unrest". Curiously, there's still no mention of the new program on The Wave's Facebook page or website, which seems really strange to me. IMO, the best way to get people to tune in would be to promote "Resurrection Radio" on the station's social media accounts and web page. 🤔

I was able to catch the first two shows. I was about ready to turn the radio off on the first day that it aired. I was caught a little off guard.
I like what I'm hearing so far. I wish they would play a little bit more on the industrial and techno music. Project Pitchfork, And One, Covenant, etc.
I think one of the host is the same guy who does a lot of the commercials I hear on 103.1, so that's been interesting.
I wonder when it will be added to the on-air advertising and on the digital platforms/social media.

I'm 99% positive that the host you mentioned who does most of the commercial voice overs on The Wave is Pete Steiner from KBZN, a/k/a "Dirty Pete". Since I rarely listen to Now 97.9, it took awhile before I figured out who he was. I wonder if The Wave is planning on bringing back "The Newer New Wave Show" as well. That show seemed to be almost as popular as "Unrest" was.

I'm using the comments and feedback about the "Unrest" and "Newer New Wave" shows posted on The Wave's Facebook page to judge their popularity. Since Nielsen doesn't rate individual radio shows, listener response is about all I have to go by. BTW, the Weber State games will be airing on 103.1 again this season, so I expect they'll be a lot of griping on The Wave's Facebook page when their regular programming is disrupted by the football and basketball games. 🙂

A lot of people (myself included) get caught up in seeing a lot of chatter by a very few people and making the conclusion that it must be a big thing. Most Twitter-is-blowing-up stories fall into this category and we've seen it on this very board. Judging from the number of posts about it, you might have thought that 1430 KLO was the biggest station in the market. Nope. We just talked about it a lot. Same with Facebook. That's something we should all try to keep in mind.

I kept the station going since I was wrapping up what I was working on and was listening to the game when the weather delay came on. When they realized that the delay was going to be significant, KLO 103.1 stated that they would go back to music and return when the game was back on (if it did). Out of curiosity I flipped over to KALL on the AM dial to see how they were handling the weather delay. It sounded like the play-by-play guys were scrambling to come up with something entertaining to state on the air. They were even giving live updates of security trying to tackle the drunk fans who had run out on the field. I guess the advantage of KLO is that when a situation like this pops up, they can return to the music format.

I just heard Chet Tapp mention that another tribute to Cuzzin Brad will be airing this Saturday, October 30TH from 7 PM-12 Midnight. "Unrest On All Hallow's Eve" will be a collection of Cuzzin Brad's "greatest demonic hits" according to Chet. I'm thinking it will be a refreshing change of pace from the endless airings of "Monster Mash" we'll hear on the radio between now and November 1st. 🙂
