I guess you could say that technically they're still on the air, but right now there's nothing but open carriers on 97.5, 100.3, 100.7, 101.5, 102.3, 103.1, 104.7, 106.3, 107.1, and 107.9 this morning. Are the transmitters for all these stations at the same location? My guess is there's been a power outage somewhere that's causing all these stations to be broadcasting nothing but dead air.

A couple of stations on Farnsworth Peak were off for a bit, due to maintenance on their digital STLs. Also, KRCL is moving their studios. The other stations? Not sure, but they may be using IP from one provider with a problem, since there have been issues with dropped calls to 9-1-1 in Salt Lake and areas nearby.

100.3 is back on the air now at 1:45 PM, but the other frequencies I listed are still on with an open carrier. It could be that the technical difficulties are storm related: I know that some areas of Salt Lake had a lot of lightning strikes late last night and early this morning.

The FM100 problem was resolved almost immediately, when it was noticed that it was accidentally switched to the digital feed which was undergoing maintenance. KRCL went off for about 15 minutes, due to their own maintenance. Everyone else was broadcasting from Humpy Peak.

Whatever the problem was, it's been fixed. All of the stations were back on the air with audio as of 7 PM.

As someone who works with some of these stations, we were not informed of any off-air periods so this is interesting. Glad things are back to normal.
