Regional Mexican KOGN 1490 has been off since at least Saturday morning (4/10). I'm not sure if it's due to transmitter failure or some other technical issue, but for those who like to DX the AM "graveyard" frequencies, 1490 should be open in Northern Utah so long as KOGN is off. I checked the FCC database earlier, and nothing's been submitted for KOGN recently. With 1490 quiet, KSTP 1500 (a/k/a "Skor North 1500") from my home state of Minnesota was clearly audible last night and early Monday morning. 🙂

FWIW, KOGN is back on the air with dead air, which is par for the course with 1490. In fact, it seems like KOGN has been broadcasting more dead air than audio lately. I'm sure I notice it more since my home is only about a mile away from the station, but KOGN's automation is definitely FUBAR. Most weekends, there's nothing but an open carrier on 1490. IMO, KOGN is a textbook example of how NOT to run a radio station.
