As the great Yogi Berra allegedly said, it's deja vu all over again.
The fun house that is Washington DC has once again propelled the news/talk stations to great ratings. KNRS ended up at the top followed by KSL tied at number 2 and KUER tied at number 4. Of special note is that KUER's is a station record. (It didn't help KKAT or KCPW at all though.) I blew it last time thinking that the unusually high ratings were over. Is this now the time that Washington calms down for an extended period and interest in news/talk stations decreases? I would say there's probably still a little leftover that hasn't been counted yet. The next ratings period started Feb 4 and Trump Impeachment II lasted until Feb 13. After that, we can only hope.
In other news - the K-Bull and K-Bear dips last month looks like just anomalies, but Now is still down from its typical historical pattern. Are they settling in to a new normal? In contrast My 99.5 has been trending up recently. There could be something there.
Continuing to watch the effect the Weber State games might have on The Wave, I'm not seeing much if any. The tweak of Rewind to Bob also hasn't had much of a visible impact.
KSOP-FM has come back after a several months long slump.
I'm surprised that Kool-FM isn't showing at all yet. According to Nielsen, the HD2/translator isn't listed as still simulcasting KEGA but it doesn't look like it was before either. I find it hard to believe that almost nobody is listening to it, especially considering that the classic hits station are doing very well. Very strange.

Oops. I left off Business 99.1. They didn't show in this report. They flipped about halfway through the reporting period so not showing up at all is a little of a surprise. It would make sense that they would have gone down (as Easy 99.1) after Christmas anyway, but to get to the not showing at all level would have to combine a significant drop as Easy followed by a complete disappearance as Business wouldn't it? (I'm making the assumption that there isn't a problem with the PPM encoder.) I can't think of another explanation. If anyone has another idea I'd like to hear it because that's not a good sign.

I can't think that iHeart is expecting much ratings-wise from Bloomberg. Personally, I like it but I would have preferred that they found some other frequency to put it on in this market, such as KNRS-AM.

I like that KNRS idea. I'd love to see what percentage of listeners are on KNRS AM vs FM.

KNRS AM and fire up one of the other HD2's that aren't being used. Does anyone know of a station in the country that has a jack / Bob FM format but with hits from the 90s, 2,000s? I wonder if something like that would be more successful than EZ99.1 was.

This should have been the evolution of Rewind 100.7. 80s, 90s, 2000s. A new "KISN".

I'm missing something. What would be the difference between what you're talking about and something like My 99.5 or B98.7?

it would play more than the CHr hits and the occasional crossover from that era. And unlike My 995 and Bee 98.7, it wouldn't play any currents. additionally you'd hear american Idiot, A Favor house Atlantic, Country gramar, One more Time by Daft punk etc. Basicly a Variety hits for the 90s and 2,000s. Not HotAC like 99.5 and 98.7
