David, what do you think this means for Christmas music this season in Salt Lake? Other than Easy 99.1/KJMY HD2 being the first Salt Lake stations to flip to all Xmas, I don't think it will have much impact on the ratings. Once KSFI flips to Christmas 24/7, it's pretty much game over for the competition. Besides the possibility of KBEE 98.7 and perhaps one of the country stations flipping, I don't think KSFI is going to have much competition this holiday season for the Ho Ho Ho audience. I've been listening to KJMY's HD2 channel more often since El Sembrador took over KLO, but beyond radio geeks like me and those who own newer vehicles with HD radios, most people don't even know HD radio exists. 99.1 is a 235 watt FM translator with a signal that probably can't be heard outside of Davis County, so I doubt that Bonneville sees Easy 99.1 as much of a threat.

Clearly the 800 lb gorilla is KSFI, I agree. I think you meant not being able to be heard outside of Salt Lake County. AC stations' strength is office listening and K256AE is right near the businesses in Salt Lake so there is a possibility of disruption in those offices but I tend to think it isn't a major possibility/issue. Would an office want to go Christmas this early anyway? I know some people just can't wait but anecdotally I think they're in the minority. By the time the majority of the workers are ready so will FM 100 be. Probably. Then again nothing about this year makes sense so who knows.

I had reason to pass through Idaho's Treasure Valley this past weekend and this. Last weekend, Cumulus' soft AC had already started on Halloween. This weekend it was joined by "107-9 Lite FM" (Townsquare?) and locally operated non-comm KTSY (which repeats into the Magic Valley).

Wow. Though i saw an article on Radioinsight which had a pretty big list of stations that had already flipped so guess it shouldn't be much of a surprise. i'd forgotten KQFC flipped to soft AC. Now gonna have to feed my curiosity and find their ratings to see if they're gaining any traction in the market.

iHeartRadio's KKCW-FM "K103" in Portland, Ore. has also flipped. Made one of the local TV news outlets.

Apparently I cannot edit my last post.
I was going to add - As did the commercially licensed/operated Christian contemporary on 104.1 FM and "K-Love" has flipped their classics channel, which airs on a translator in the market at 103.7.

yesterday scanning through the dial a bit, I heard the most Interesting?? that's an understatement, liner on k256AE. it was Fisher i think his name is, doing the VO work for the station, and paraphrasing the promo went something like, You might have noticed 106.5 is gone, and FM100 and the Breeze... don't remember what he said after that but it didn't matter. Referencing a sister station that hasn't existed in 8 years or so, then following it up with a reference to a 2nd station that hasn't existed for 11- plus years?? it was weird to say the least. Was on yesterday around 1p
