Dell Loy can't be too happy about how the Broadway stations are doing.

Yep, political talk is hot right now. I don't think that's much of a surprise. The current ratings period runs until Wed Nov 4 so I think it's a pretty safe bet that the next report will have ratings that are as high or even higher. The thing I figure the suits at KNRS, KSL and KUER must be thinking about now is how to keep those listeners after the elections. A strategy I'd be looking at if I were KNRS or KSL would be to forgo some paying ads right now in favor of promos for non-election talk that would give the temporary listeners a reason to become permanent ones. The money from paying spots right now is enticing but trading some of it for long term higher ratings could collect more money in the long run. Thoughts?
In other news, B98.7 rebounded after a dip last month. The troubling trend I see is a slide in country, particularly Z104. They now have half the ratings they had 3 months ago. Are country listeners becoming talk listeners? I'm not sure on that one.
The entry that piqued my interest this month was KSFI-FM-HD2. That's still running the Soft Sunday Sounds format, right? (Maybe they should call it Soft SundayMondayTuesdayWednesdayThursdayFridaySaturday Sounds?) I know in the past they've flipped to Christmas ahead of the main channel and I was wondering if they had done that already this year. The 'last played' list on their website seems to say no but could someone with a hash decoder check?

KSFI-FM HD2 is still airing the Soft Sunday Sounds music--no Christmas tunes as of Friday afternoon. I'm going to guess they'll flip to 24/7 Xmas music sometime between November 2nd and November 4th.
