Reading through the Wikipedia page of KHTB... there were lots of formats on 101.9. What was your favorite? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KHTBI remember "Pop FM". Run locally by Blair Carter. That was fun to listen to. I also liked "Cat Country" before it was sold to Clear Channel and became "K102".

Were they on 101.9? I thought they were from the ere when The End was on 107.5.

Some of my favorite memories of 101.9 was Kat Country 102 FM and a war of words they had with KSOP. KSOP had the slogan "Playing the most country music allowed by law." So KKAT came back with "We ARE the law!" KSOP's response: "Keep listening and kick the (insert cat meow) out!"

I remember during one of the format tweaks as KKAT they were touting how they had eliminated the old country from the playlist. The liner said something like "The twang is gone." They ended up reversing that choice though they didn't say "the twang is back" as far as I know but they should have. Something that's missing from the Wikipedia article; when Citadel bought 101.9 they simulcast K-Bull on it for a few days and then ran a loop directing listeners to 93.3. Nothing special there. After about a week and a half they started simulcasting 1320 Kfan and that lasted about a month. It ended right after the last game of the Stanley Cup Finals as I recall. To launch the new format they played a bunch of stuff including some really bad versions of Pop Goes the Weasel which led me to jokingly wonder if the new format was going to be Pop-FM or 101.9 The Weasel. I got it right for the wrong reason.
