I'm enjoying the kickoff to the X96 fake festival so far. There have been some great on-air promos (I honestly thought they were having a concert on first listen!) and now it's kicking off with one of the best bands ever, Oingo Boingo.
Anyone else hearing anything surprising or unusual on the local airwaves?
Personally treasured Oingo Boingo memory: Working at ZCMI (by then Meier & Frank) in downtown Salt Lake City. The only radio station we could receive was KCPW so this CD was playing constantly in our stock room.

The lineup is set. x96.com/life/larry-h-miller-used-car-supermarket-x96-fake-festival-volume-2-line-up/I'm not sure if bringing it back is a sign of success or not. It depends on how you define success for one thing. I would assume Broadway is charging a premium for the advertising/promotion and if LHM wants to pay it that's reason enough right there. It's definitely getting publicity, not just here but in the trade press as well. I think Broadway has no direct way of measuring if the stunt increased listenership since they don't subscribe to Nielsen or Eastlan as far as I know. The bottom line is the bottom line and if they think it makes sense then good luck to them.
