Let's get the word out. DJ Mike Summers will be on 103.1 the Wave this week from 3:00 to 7?00. Maybe he will get a full time position on the Wave. It is good to hear him back on the radio.

It may indeed be a permanent gig. I just checked KSQN's web page, and Andrea is no longer listed as one of the jocks. Coincidentally, the 3:00-7:00 PM time slot is Andrea's regular air shift. I know that Mike hasn't had much luck in convincing another station to take on the format that was previously on 107.9, Utah's Mountain.

I was wondering what had happened?

So I emailed Chet last night to ask about Andrea. He responded that she had taken a job outside of the station. It didn't sound like she had gone to another station.
I was listening to Mike Summers on the way home. At one point he slipped up and started saying 101... then corrected himself to say 103.1. Probably just old habit. It is good to hear him on the air again.

Mike has been on many different stations since his beginnings at KCGL in the mid 1980's. IIRC, he was even on KISN 97 for a short time under the "Mike Winters" moniker after KCGL dropped its modern/alternative format. I'd be surprised if he DIDN'T get confused with call signs and slogans on air once in awhile. After all, he's only human like the rest of us. I wish he'd been able to find another Salt Lake station for the "eclectic rock and roll" format formerly on 107.9, but he hasn't had much luck according to recent posts on Utah's Mountain Facebook page. :-(
