Interesting. I had no idea that translators were allowed to ID using other modes besides voice. I've known for years that public safety stations in the VHF & UHF bands are allowed to ID using CW (Morse code), but I don't think that applies to regular broadcast stations.

And quite a few transmitter manufacturers include FSK ID'ing as a built in feature

I know for sure that translators can ID with Morse code but I don't think full service stations can. Here's a (relatively) famous TOH ID from the Nashville market that ID's the translator by Morse. www.jingles.com/audio/stash/WNSR-TN15.mp3

Both 1580 and 99.9 have audio distortion this morning. Something needs fixing or adjusting.
I heard the GOAT play "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" the other day. While novelty songs might not be the "Greatest of All Time" they sure are fun, and I would like to hear more of them. Here are some suggestions:
"Beep, beep" by The Playmates "Snoopy vs. the Red Baron" by The Royal Guardsmen "The Streak" by Ray Stevens

Thanks. Yes, we've been having STL issues that we're working on. It's actually been on and off since Saturday night. Hoping to have it fixed soon!
Thanks for the recommendations on the novelty songs. I don't have them in heavy rotation, but I agree, it's fun to have them in there every once in awhile. These are all fun songs. I'll certainly look at adding them into the playlist.

Frank, any idea of how much longer it will take to get KSRR 1400 and KQMB 96.7 back on the air?

David, We're still closing the deal, so we haven't even gotten the equipment yet. After that finishes (hopefully soon), I may have to put them on with an STA temporarily just to get them back on the air while we have the engineering studies and everything done. We ran a long-wire for the AM last year and an exciter on the FM and can set that back up again if the FCC is still ok with it while we get the bigger work done, which is going to be significant.

Still hearing 1580 up here in Laramie at night fairly well at night, it swaps with the 95 Watt KQFN Phoenix 140 Watt KFCS Colorado Springs, which just went tejano as El Tigre 94.7 and 104.3

Wow, you can hear KWLO 1580 in Laramie? I’m in Murray and can’t get enough signal to recognize any speech or music, and I have very good radios, not pro stuff though. 1580 registers zero on my signal strength meters.

Sometimes just enough to be able to ID the song.. and if I point my antenna right in their direction, it can be quite decent at times (my antenna is pointing W/SW towards San Jose/San Francisco and NE towards central Manitoba right now)

Question for fmdj1: Might it be at all possible to get Utah’s GOAT streaming on TuneIn? Thank you for your consideration!
