(I will most likely spell all these names wrong so please accept my apology.) A week or two ago KSL launched a two-hour sports talk show from 7 to 9 PM Monday-Friday called "Unrivaled" with Alex Keery and Scott Mitchell. They've been having a tough time with that time slot and it's been many years since KSL has delved into sports talk radio with the exception of Cougar Sports Saturday. When I first started following radio in the late 80s early 90s they had "KSL Sports Central" with Chris Tunis. (RIP, we lost him way too soon.) Then I remember when Chris left they chaged the name to "Sports Night" and that was hosted by Greg Roubelle and I think Kent Roop as well. I know Bill Riley did some sports with KSL for a while but I can't remember in what capacity. I do remember that KSL did away with its daily sports show and the reason given was because of all the sports talk that was available elsewhere. I believe neither KALL nor KZNS have local sports talk after 7 PM so maybe KSL is seeing an opportunity to fill a void there. It will be interesting to see how successful this program is. They had the Nightside Project then Drew Steel then J-Mack and Doug Wright reruns and Dave and Dujanovic who took over for Doug had that spot too so hopefully "Unrivaled" doesn't become "Unraveled". Okay, bad joke sorry! Curious about everyone elses thoughts.

I'm glad to hear Alex Kirry is back on KSL during the evenings; I just wish he was on with Ethan Millard because I miss the Nightside Project a lot. I don't care much for sports and I'm not usually near a radio between 7-9 PM, but I'll give the program a listen on my next night off from work. I'm glad that KSL is at least attempting to put a live & local show on weeknights instead of repeats of D & D and JMac, because there's usually not many people listening to the radio between 7-9 PM. With NFL preseason underway and football season not far behind, KSL may be banking on picking up some extra listeners in the evenings, especially since KALL has ESPN programming after 6 PM, and the Bees games have been on KZNS at night. The funny thing is that I never see KZNS show up in the ratings, so I'm not sure if they don't subscribe or just don't have enough listeners to register in the Nielsens.

According to my records KZNS AM & FM (reported separately) dropped off the Nielsen radar July 2017. They were doing well at the time for a sports station, so my guess would be they just stopped subscribing.

I apologize in advance. I'm going to butcher the spellings of most of these names so please forgive me. A couple of weeks ago, KSL launched a new sportstalk show called "Unrivaled" with Alex Keery and Scott Mitchell from 7 to 9 PM weeknights. It seems like this time slot has been a struggle for them over the last few years since the Nightside Project. They've had Drew Steele, Jay Mack and Doug Wright reruns, and even Dave and Dujanovic before they took over daytimes. When I first started following Salt Lake Radio in the late 80s/early 90s they had a show called "KSL Sports Central" with the late great Chris Tunis. (We lost him way too soon.) At one point they had a show called "Sports Night" which, if memory serves, was hosted by both Kent Roop (There's a name we haven't heard in a while.) and Greg Roubelle. Bill Riley was doing sports on KSL in some capacity too before he went to KALL. KSL did away with there nightly sports show and, from what I heard at the time, it was because of all the other sportstalk that was available. Other than Cougar Sports Saturday, live games, and such, KSL has moved away from sports radio in recent years. KZNS and KALL both stop local sportstalk and go national right around 7 PM so maybe KSL is hoping to fill that void. With the struggles KSL has had in that time slot, I'm wondering how successful all of you think this show will be. Will "Unrivaled" become unraveled? (Okay. Bad joke.) Thoug hts?

I am SO SORRY everyone! I didn't realize the thread I created yesterday posted. I thought I had deleted before it sent. I would delete this thread but I don't know how. I am new to forums so if an admin would delete this thread with my apologies, that would be great. Mia culpa.

Just FYI: The way the board is set up, users can't delete or edit their posts for more than about 30 minutes after they've been posted. But don't sweat it too much, I'm sure CA will take care of things shortly.
