Not a very smart move if you ask me. KZNS probably doesn't have a very good signal in the Cache Valley area (especially at night), and a 1 KW graveyard station (KACH) near the upper end of the AM dial won't have as strong a signal as KVNU does. Since I'm not a big sports fan, I haven't heard much of Al Lewis' play by play over the years. But I do know that the morning news on KVNU with Al and Craig Hislop is the only local radio morning show that I really enjoy.

Most of KACH's primary contour doesn't even land in Utah and falls short of Logan. That seems like a non-starter to me.

KSL's ratings do tend to trend down in the late spring and summer and then go back up when fall hits. They've done that for years now. I wouldn't read anything into the current trends.

Wow! must be getting a lot mor money from LHM i'd hope if your going to do this. Such a head scratcher. Would love to see the previous vs current contracts, and to see what they turned down from Sun Valley media. Speaking of the Frandsens, will they mobilize their translator empire to start blocking some of these FM signals even though they're local? Talking about 92.3 and 105.5 and i'm kidding of course, but couldn't resist.

drpepper, according to CA, the move in of 105.5 FM has been cancelled: See the thread "FCC To Crack Down On Silent Stations" in the National/International radio section for details. He mentioned some other FM translators that have been cancelled, but I don't think 92.3 was one of them.

The 95.9, 98.3 and 105.5 move-ins I was referring to were all Humpy rimshots, not translators.

At David: I wasn't referring to any of the humpy rimshots being potentially interfered with by Sun Valley media's translators, but rather the 105.5 translator from preston I think? That simulcasts KACH 1340 AM, and KBLU LP 92.3 respectively, since those are 2 frequencies from Preston to logan where USU games will be heard. Was a poor attempt at a joke. Sarcasticly mae that comment because so many translators go up adjacent to or in rare occasions on the same frequency as SLC stations. E.g. a translator which was for a short time, used to relay KBLQ a while back. That translator was on 97.9. Or the translator which was on 97.1 that blocked ZHT. Anyway, that's what I was referring to. Obviously it's not going to happen, hence the sarcastic, lousy attempt at a joke.
