KSQN 103.1 FM has repeated last year's early format flip and is now Christmas music 24/7. If you consider Logan part of the Salt Lake radio market, KLGN 1390 AM has also flipped to Christmas music 24/7--two stations on the same day. Happy Holidays!

KTCE Payson (92.1) was not on the air yesterday when I checked. I guess their return to the air earlier this month was just a Christmas miracle.
Was playing Christmas music for a couple of weeks enough to satisfy the FCC?

KLGN and KSRR are still playing nonstop Christmas. I assume that they will flip back sometime this weekend or on Monday.

If a station is broadcasting something "intended for the public" then that qualifies as no longer being silent as far as the not being silent for a year rule goes. You can't just put a 1kHz tone on the air and expect that to work. Of course the FCC doesn't really care much about rules these days anyway, so it might not even matter.
As for KLGN & KSRR, we're still technically in the Christmas season (until Jan 5), so they could justify it that way.

I'm going to close this thread, since the Christmas topic has run its course. If you'd like to start a new topic please do so.
