Ok so the only way that I knew was in the dentist chair and they had Sunny 103 on.......
Sunny has tweeked to a mellow, soft and relaxing station no more Katy Perry or Top 40 being thrown in or the best variety of 70's thru today it's just mellow which is great since KOSY left the market...

Mixing in some of the same songs that are powering their sister station Now never made any sense to me. They started as more of a LiteAC, then went more AC/HotAC, now I guess it's shifting back.
Now here's something else weird. On their website (sunny103fm.com) it lists that they run "Music and the Spoken Word" on Sundays. That's been a staple on KSL since around the time of Moses. How did they pull that off?

Honestly I don't think MATSW is a "market exclusive" kind of thing. We used to run it on KEVA. I think the church will let anyone who wants to run it have it. I am sure they would have no problem at all if every station in Utah ran it. The more the merrier.

I vaguely recall hearing it on KACH (1340 AM, Preston) one Sunday about 10 years ago as well.

Interesting. If I had something with that kind of draw I would think about using that to bring people to my station. On the other hand, maybe the importance of getting the message out is more important. Given that we're talking about a Church, the second option does make more sense and a little research shows that's exactly what they did. There's quite of bit of interesting information at www.musicandthespokenword.com/B_faq.shtml which appears to be their official web presence.

BTW, I just tuned in a little while ago while writing in a different thread and caught Bruno Mars. They might be dayparting.

Maybe. You sure Delilah wasn't still on? Otherwise I can't see Bruno having a place on their new format. Honestly its "spectrum ac" revisited. I really like it and it IS something different that no one is doing. I have thought it is sad anymore these days that the AC format has morphed so badly and you don't see any lite and easy stations anymore. Ac may as well be hot ac. There is hardly any difference. Everyone is going for the younger generation and younger sound. Kudos to sunny for actually going after a slightly older demographic. I love the soft ac format. Hope it lasts.

It was during the Delilah show yes, but as I understand it she only does the wraparound segments and it's up to the individual stations to put their own music in. That could be wrong.
I've come to the same conclusion that AC and Hot AC are pretty much the same thing these days. There's even crossover with CHR and modern country. I wonder if what we're really seeing is a return to old-style Top40 radio.

I dunno...even before it seems there were things you would hear during Delilah that u didn't here during regular hours on sunny. I was under the impression Delilah's show is all one package...it all comes off the satellite. And you are right it sure seems reminiscent of the old days when the top 40 was the top 40. Top 40 stations played everything. It's the rap stuff that irritates me. Probably not any more irritating than the disco was in the top 40 days of the 70s! My little station is ac and I refuse to play things like wiz khalifa no matter how high it gets on the AC chart.
