KPDR files to increase their power from 5kw to 15kw. This would give them roughly the same coverage as KSVN-CD Ch 25.

I've always had choppy audio from them. Hopefully, this will help.

I'm assuming that this upgrade is why they've been off the air for the past while.

I've always had problems picking them up, even though I should be within their coverage area, so I wouldn't make any assumptions.......

I haven't had any problems picking them up, just the occasional audio "pop." It's not that my tuners won't lock in on the signal, it's that I don't even see anything on my meter. Same thing with ch15 (18) -- no signal at all.

My point was I'm not sure everything is running all that smoothly over there. Watching their FCC filings for the last 5 years or so there seems to be confusion at the very least. What makes this latest chapter particularly strange is why would you take the entire station off the air for days until you're ready to do whatever needs to be done to get the modified station on air? They don't even have a website anymore. The entire website is just a full frame redirect to something called mercobox, whatever that is. The whole thing is a mess. I want to be clear though. I wish them well. I like what they're trying to do. It's just hard to make any headway and maybe this is all just a symptom of that. If I were to take a pessimistic view I might think that the power increase was just a prelude to putting the station in the auction for cellular space whenever that happens and bailing on TV completely. I hope that isn't the case.

I see they're back on the air -- all 6 channels of programming. Haven't looked at the signal, yet, though.

Last night the signal looked to me to be about the same strength it was previously.

The KPDR file at the FCC seems to have been cleaned up. The only currently licensed facility is the old Ensign Peak one. The application mentioned above near Farnsworth was approved. I forget how many other construction permits there were, but there is only the 1 new one now.
