KCSG (Cedar City/St George, channel 116 on Comcast) has dropped Me-TV in favor of a new broadcast network called Heroes and Icons (H&I). H&I just launched yesterday (September 29th) and is another Weigel Broadcasting offering along with Me-TV and the Movies! network. The new network will feature classic TV "cop" shows like Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue. Apparently they don't have a web site yet, or if they do I've been unable to find it using Google. More info about H&I can be found in this Chicago Tribune article: www.chicagotribune.com/business/breaking/chi-weigel-digital-tv-network-20140929-story.htmlI'm not going to hold my breath waiting for Comcast to update their on-screen programming guide for H&I. It took about six weeks after channel 106 replaced Zeus Country with the Movies! network before Comcast finally got around to updating the programming schedule. Hey, at least the audio on the H&I network is much better than it was when KCSG was carrying Me-TV. Now I won't get my ears blasted when switching from KCSG to another cable channel.

When KCSG was carrying MeTV they were on a delayed schedule vs what was on KTVX 4.2, right? Considering the duplication that was probably their best move, but the duplication was really kind of a waste. Seems like this would be a good move for everyone. My big question is, is the formatting too narrow? Can they sustain that small a focus for years? I guess we'll see.

KCSG was carrying MeTV for at least a year or two before KTVX 4.2 dropped The CoolTV in favor of MeTV, so there was no duplication for a long time on Comcast. The programming on KCSG was an hour behind KTVX 4.2, and KCSG never carried all of the MeTV programming. At least three to four hours of KCSG's daily broadcast schedule was occupied by paid programming, so it will be interesting to see if the station carries the full line-up of H&I programs. The new network is showing a lot of the TV westerns from the 1950's and early 1960's along with the cop shows, like The Wild, Wild West and Wanted Dead or Alive with Steve McQueen.
