As of sometime before 2:00 PM today (September 16th), KTVX 4.2 (MeTV, channel 104 on Comcast) is gone and has been replaced by Weather Nation KTVX 4.3. Anyone know if Weather Nation is a permanent replacement for MeTV, or is it just a programming glitch? Yes, I'm aware that MeTV programming is also on KCSG Comcast channel 116, but quite frankly, KCSG's audio is LOUSY. I have to turn the volume almost all the way up just to hear the audio track, and even at full volume the audio is noisy and weak.

So I take it you're watching the Comcast feed? OTA 4.2 is unchanged and is running CHiPs from MeTV right now. I would guess it's a Comcast issue. MeTV is the #1 all classic TV network (according to them) and I've heard that Utah is thei #1 rated affiliate, so dropping them would be very strange.

Yes, I was watching the Comcast feed, and I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it's probably an issue with the cable company. After all, it took Comcast nearly six weeks before they finally updated the program schedule for channel 106 to the Movies! programming instead of Zeus Country. Getting rid of Comcast is becoming a more desireable option for me every time they make one of these screw-ups.

I haven't had anything but OTA for almost 4 years. It's rare that I miss not being able to see something that's on cable. That's especially true with the explosion of diginets like MeTV. I save $60/month and still can almost always find something interesting to watch for free.

The problem with OTA TV reception for me is location, location, location. My home is located in a "hole" very close to the mouth of Ogden Canyon, which makes reception of FM radio and OTA TV very difficult, especially now that all OTA TV is digital except for some of the low power stations. Even my cell phone reception is sketchy unless I'm outdoors or on the top floor of my house. This basically leaves me with three options for TV: Comcast, Dish Network, or DirectTV. The only reason I've stuck with Comcast for so long is that I have an odd work schedule which makes it difficult to spend a day waiting for someone to show up to install satellite equipment. Comcast's On Demand is also convenient for me because I'm not always home when my favorite programs are on. FWIW, KTVX 4.2 is back on channel 104 now, so maybe someone from Comcast customer service reads this board.
