Here's the view from here.
KSL was up a tick, so the major downward trend they were in did level off and reverse. A sigh of relief for them I would guess.
Nice book for My 99.5, especially considering it costs them next to nothing to run. I wonder how much those numbers put a hole in the arguments of those who say radio is doomed because of Pandora and MP3 players and so on. Those services are automated jukeboxes and that's pretty much what My is too.
Rock 106.5 maintaining good numbers while The Arrow slipped a little.
The Cumulus properties outside of K-Bull aren't doing well.
The split of 103.1 from 1430 is already proving to be a good move. Their combined audience has doubled since they separated. Why did they wait so long?

On a related note, this is the first time I've noticed SLC and San Antonio are both now in the top 30 markets (not that it makes a big difference for national $). SLC-Ogden-Provo is now 29, was 35 less than a decade ago. San Antonio and SLC seem to be jockeying for positions, as SA is now 28.

Why did they wait so long? Maybe someone within KLO's management actually thought they had a chance at competing with KSL AM & FM if they simulcasted the AM to FM long enough? That's the only reason I can think of to explain why it took so long to split 103.1 from the AM side. Too bad the problems with KLO's AM night time signal surfaced so soon after the format switch. I think the most vocal advocate of the "radio is doomed" theory here got sucked into the world of Pandora and MP3 players about eight months ago. He/she probably got frustrated with us old farts who refuse to believe that radio will be dead within the next five years. Oh well, to each his or her own.

Did 103.1 steal any listeners from FM100? It seems to me that Sunny's 70s to Now format is a copycat of FM100's playlist.

I listened a bit to Sunny when it launched at it seemed much softer overall than what the other AC's play. There was definitely some overlap, but most of what they were playing was Lite AC as I recall. Have they tweaked the playlist since? They also have to make sure not to cannibalize their other FM property, Now 97.9.

I still wish they'd brighten up their processing just a little... I know the ladies aren't fond of high frequencies, but it needs to sound better than it does now.
